Contribuição do BNDES para o desenvolvimento da microrregião de Xanxerê/SC

Abstract

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has been involved with the theme of regional development, and has implemented programs that recognize the existence of different development dynamics, like the Regional Dynamization Program (RDP), which classifies micro-regions by income and dynamism criteria. The RPD signals to the stagnation of the dynamics of development of the Xanxerê Micro-region, since it classifies it as Average Upper Income, Stagnated type. According to regional development theory, one of the factors determining the development potential of a region is its current productive specialization. In this sense, this study aims to analyze the development dynamics of the Xanxerê Micro-region through its productive structure in order to verify if the BNDES performance has corresponded with the specificities of that region. For this, the present study confronts BNDES disbursements with the production structure of the Xanxerê Micro-region. It is verified that part of BNDES disbursements have supported activities in that the region presents productive specialization and it is concluded that BNDES has assisted in the process on development of the Xanxerê Micro-region.
