A reestruturação bancária internacional: experiência recente e possíveis desdobramentos

Abstract

O artigo discute as causas e as possíveis conseqüências da reorganização bancária internacional, à luz da literatura acadêmica e profissional, com particular destaque para os possíveis efeitos associados à unificação monetária européia. Mesmo que de forma tentativa e preliminar, busca-se verificar de que forma a experiência internacional pode contribuir para o entendimento das esperadas mudanças nos fluxos financeiros internacionais para países emergentes e na dinâmica do mercado bancário doméstico.

This paper discusses the causes and possible results produced by the international banking consolidation in the light of the current academic and professional literature, also analyzing the potential effects related to the introduction of the European single currency. Even preliminarily, it is discussed how the international experience can contribute to the understanding of the expected changes in the international financial flows to emerging economies and in the dynamics of the Brazilian banking market.
