O Pronaf B e o financiamento agropecuário nos Territórios da Cidadania do semiárido

Abstract

Com elevada vulnerabilidade econômica e social, os municípios pertencentes aos Territórios da Cidadania (TCs) do semiárido brasileiro contam, em geral, com estabelecimentos agropecuários bastante precários do ponto de vista das características produtivas. Diante disso, a grande maioria dos agricultores familiares da região permaneceria alijada do sistema nacional de crédito rural se não contasse com o Programa Nacional de Fortalecimento da Agricultura Familiar (Pronaf), sobretudo em sua linha destinada ao Grupo B, relativo aos estabelecimentos com baixos rendimentos. Este artigo dedica-se ao estudo dos 36 TCs do semiárido brasileiro e da importância do Pronaf B para os agricultores familiares da região.

With high economic and social vulnerability, the municipalities belonging to the Citizenship Territories (TCs) in the Brazilian semiarid region generally have rather unsatisfactory agricultural and cattle-raising establishments in terms of production. Due to this, the vast majority of farmers in the region would be excluded from the national system of rural credit if they did not have access to the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture (Pronaf), especially its line of credit aimed at Group B, related to low-income establishments. This article is dedicated to the study of 36 TCs in the Brazilian semiarid region and the importance of Pronaf B to family farmers in the region.
