Biogás de resíduos agroindustriais: panorama e perspectivas

Abstract

Biogas production is important both for the use of agroindustrial waste and for the replacement of fossil fuels. The article seeks to illustrate the evolution of biogas, presently one of the most viable technological alternatives to fight climate change and adopt renewable energy. It analyses the costs and applications of biogas, seeking to understand its implications for the environment, and to outline the main characteristics of world markets. It also explores the present state of technology and markets in Brazil, detailing its sources and perspectives, concluding with a description of BNDES support, the potential to be explored, and finally, addressing some recent policy proposals.
