Inclusão produtiva rural: a trajetória do BNDES Fundo Social de 2009 a 2020

Abstract

This article seeks to register the BNDES Social Fund’s support to rural productive inclusion, from 2009 to 2020, with a focus on family farming and, more recently, on agroecology. This action was aligned with public policies, especially federal ones, and inserted in a context of global commitments for sustainable development. The article presents the general characteristics and some examples of the support provided by the BNDES, highlighting the work in partnership with subnational entities, public companies, private foundations and non-profit institutions from the organized civil society, which leverage resources and give more capillarity to actions. It also seeks to show the importance of maintaining this type of support by the BNDES, given its adherence to the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda, the context of worsening socioeconomic conditions and the need to expand the promotion of sustainable development in the country.
