Previdência direta: o Tesouro Direto para a previdência

Abstract

This article presents a possible configuration of the Poupança Individual de Aposentadoria, a retirement system similar to the Tesouro Direto, but with tax benefits. In general, the pension benefit amounts projected based on this configuration, called Previdência Direta, were much higher than the other options analyzed, including income generated by the Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social (INSS), the Plano Gerador de Benefício Livre (PGBL) and Vida Gerador de Benefício Livre (VGBL) pension plans, pension funds, investments made in Tesouro Direto, personal savings accounts, real estate and traditional investment funds. Given the results, we conclude that a possible strengthening of the pension system based on capitalization should be guided by systems with low administrative expenses and the adoption of mutualism to convert accumulated savings into income.
