Abstract: The air transport sector was one of the economic sectors most adversely impacted during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis. Approximately 85% of BNDES export financed Brazilian manufactured aircraft consists of regional jets, and the BNDES exposure to the US market is above 80%. During the Covid-19 crisis, the US passenger air transport system suffered an impact more than three times higher than the events of 9/11 in 2001. In March 2020, the US Congress passed a bill worth US$ 50 billion in support of passenger airlines. That support package, renewed over the last two years, had a decisive and positive role in that market recovery. The E-Jets, especially the E-170/175 family, appear to have been the least affected by the pandemic in the US, from its inception to the subsequent recovery process.
